The Schmidt Family has been actively farming since 1865. Currently, Roger is the 6th generation of Schmidts who still work the original farmland. Roger has been farming with his dad Herbie his whole life. He started out feeding animals and then progressed to working the land and milking cows. In 2001, Herbie decided to stop milking dairy cows and Roger then decided to buy Beef Cattle instead.. thus starting the next generation of farming. Roger has been growing his own herd of Registered Black Angus Cattle. He is also expanding the pork and chicken operation. He grows and harvests his own food from the land to feed all the animals including no-till and pasture rotation methods. Roger and Deanna got married in 2014 and along with Deanna's two daughters, Vanessa and Jillian, bought the farm from Rogers parents. The girls brought 3 horses and a few goats to the farm. In 2017, Roger and Deanna had a baby boy named Rodee. The farm is now a full house and barn. The family enjoys 4H and also helping out with FFA. Along with Rogers dad, Deanna's dad David and Deanna's godson Jonny also help out on the farm. It is definitely a family run farm. Everyone is needed to help out. We are members of Wisconsin Cattleman's Association, National Cattleman's Association, Eastern Wisconsin Beef Producers Association, Wisconsin Angus Association and American Angus Association.
We consign bulls at the Black Hills Stock Show, Midland Bull Test and St. Croix Valley Bull Test at UW River Falls. We consign females at the Wisconsin state Angus sale.
